Welcome to the “Week on the Wrist’ series where I wear a watch for one week to gauge the initial reaction and inspect those finer details which one can easily overlook or not necessarily notice during that honeymoon period of purchasing a watch.

Omega Seamaster, a name synonymous with durability, accuracy, style, and sensibility.

This particular watch is the 210.22.42.20.01.002 finished in 42mm stainless steel paired with “Sedna” gold. Which for those who do not know, is a mixture of Copper and Gold.

Welcome to the “Week on the Wrist’ series where I wear a watch for one week to gauge the initial reaction and inspect those finer details which one can easily overlook or not necessarily notice during that honeymoon period of purchasing a watch.

Recalcitrant - means defiant, unapologetic

To set the premise, my wrist is 17cm in circumference; a little on the smaller side. As this is on a rubber strap, I did not need to remove anything of course.

Initially, I was taken back by the clarity of the dial, the colour of the bezel, and the open case back which is always a nice touch.

Although slightly on the larger side for me, this watch was very comfortable, especially with the strap. During the week, I did try the bracelet, and although this may suit a bit more; the rubber strap is great for smart casual and every day wear.

Very little fingerprint pickup courtesy of the brushed steel and “Sedna” (which was introduce in 2013). Which makes me very happy to people wanted to have a look as some people simply love to mar the crystal.

Splendidly weighted and does not fall to the side of the wrist at all if worn snug - it does however always have a presence on the wrist to remind you.

Great feedback from the social groups and the “Sedna” is not in your face and adds a whisp of class. Paired perfectly with the matching hands. People that like Omega’s seemingly really like them.

And so we come to the weekend… the place where dings, dents, scratches, and scuffs happen. The Omega held up very well. Although slightly robust (again, on my wrist), I felt like this was a juggernaut of a watch. Nothing could stop it, however much was thrown at it.

Final Thoughts

One of the short list for sure!

Is the premium worth it for the “Sedna”? If you have the money, and you love the look of it - yes. If you are not over the bothered then - no. I for one, would be happy to spend the bit more, as I am a firm believer of adding colour into an other hue of Stainless Steel and black-only faces.
